Here's a picture of the time I've spent so far studying the current course I'm on.
I'm not quite certain why I've chosen to represent the number of hours I've studied via the medium of pencils. It appeals to me to see a tangible representation of the effort I've put into something as amorphous as refining my mental toolkit. It's kinda pleasing to be able to 'see' it build up rather than just know it - think it's harder to become disheartened from doing something when you've got a way of seeing progress. Plus it gives me something to do with all the pencils I've got! £2 for 100 pencils? Bargain! :D

This is the sort of thing that happens when you don't watch what you're doing when putting on shoes.

Installation went fine, but didn't partition enough space so have done it all again, with double the memory. Worked perfectly fine besides that!
Got my first installment of Open University stuff today for this year's set of work. Considering it represents 16 hours of work per week, and therefore effectively a 7 day work week rather than my normal 5, the box is currently sitting taped up against the wall of my lounge, exuding menace and doing a very good impression of an unexploded bomb.
May rip open the box tonight and face the beast head on....after some soothing post-gym pizza.
Food makes everything good!

I've let myself get entangled in the current gaming zeitgeist & intend on playing Bioshock. A task not made easy due to it being out exclusively on PC & XBox 360, two items I don't currently have.
Howevah, I've been meaning to make my macbook pro PC compatible for a while (and gives me something to do as I've quaranteined myself tonight due to a dicky tummy - Typoid Menzies is usually a carrier, not a sufferer-) so am in the process of installing XP. Bootcamp is taking _45_ minutes to download so sheer boredom has inspired me to update this blog.

Making my fancy-dan laptop even fancier may seem like a good idea, but it also means I'll now be able to play thousands of PC only programs & games that i've not been able to use since I chucked my PC in the bin. This is a bad thing as my Open University course will be starting up again soon and what I don't need in life is yet more distractions!
Here's hoping nothing disastrous happens with the installation, such as the hard drive unexpectedly wiping itself clean/ a driver incompatibility fritzing the temperature controls causing my flat to burn down/ a celestial being of immense power recognises the putting of windows onto a mac as a sin against nature and sinks the entire planet into the 6th circle of hell.....the list could go on ^^

I've been meaning to set up proper blogs for ages, but have always had more important things to do, but there's _always_ more important things to do with our time so I'm going to do it anyway.
Blogs have many functions and a single once can't fulfill all those functions. I'm going to have 3 for now; one to keep friends updated with what I'm up to ('cos it's a shame to lose contact with people) another for myself to keep a sort of private journal (because it's nice to look back at the happenings that have come together to make up your life + remember all the fun gory bits you wouldn't want everyone else to know!), and then there's _this_ blog.
This blog will contain 'unintelligent content' - a banal + intellectually innofensive blog that's juicy-bits free & acts as a public presence for me on the web.
Prepare to be uninspired & slightly bored, the fun bits are elsewhere ; )
